Privacy Statement

Autonoetonaut strongly rejects surveillance capitalism of any form, and while it's impossible to assure complete privacy online, we do endeavor to use tools and platforms that largely or completely respect your privacy. To that end, this site is built using Grav CMS, a flat-file CMS that, out of the box, does nothing to track you - and we've added nothing to extend on that. Additionally, this site uses no JavaScript or cookies, and uses only HTML and just a touch of CSS. This approach is largely inspired by this site. Pages load fast, they're easy to read, and they're accessible to those with certain physical or cognitive challenges.

We have what will be a mirror site (a "capsule") in Geminispace. Geminispace uses a protocol that couldn't track you, even if someone running the capsule wanted to. A couple of primers on Geminispace can be found here and here. Our capsule is here. Bear in mind, accessing Geminispace requires its own, purpose-built browser capable of interpreting the gemini protocol. Langrange seems to be the most popular - and rightly so.

We also use only privacy-respecting Social Media. For now, this means Mastodon and Bluesky - though it's difficult to see how Bluesky will ever make any money without eventually collecting and selling your data. If we see evidence of that, we'll drop it. Using Bluesky is pretty straightforward - like other, more popular platforms, however Mastodon is a bit different. Here's a primer.

We have chosen to disable the comments section for this site. The comments section of nearly all websites is typically trash and, thus, requires moderation which none of us want to do at the moment.
